Hiatus

As you may have noticed, there hasn’t been a new page in quite some time. For that, I apologize. Especially since we’re right in the middle of a chapter, I know it’s bad timing, but it can’t be helped. I’ve been really busy on a project that is a lot of work and tight deadlines. I’ve had to put everything else on hold while I work. I can’t give any kind of definitive date as to when the next page will be ready. It may be a while. Sorry, folks. -Dave

We’ve been nominated for a 2011 Harvey Award in the category of Best Online Comics Work! This is quite an honor to be nominated and we humbly stand alongside some of the best creators and work in the business today.

A bit about the Harveys, from their site:

The Harvey Awards are one of the comic book industry’s oldest and most respected awards. The Harveys recognize outstanding achievements in over 20 categories, ranging from Best Artist to the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame. They are the only industry awards both nominated by and selected by the full body of comic book professionals.

A big, heartfelt thanks to everyone who submitted us for nomination. This is an extraordinary thrill. If you are a comic professional, I really hope you consider us when filling out your awards ballot!

Comments Contest weeks 38-39

Congratulations to the winner of the 38th week of the Comments Contest: thedanofsteel! And also to the winner of the 39th week, Acksiom! That’s right, two weeks worth of winners for the price of one, I’m almost caught up. I’ll be contacting you two about claiming your mini sketches.

I’m sorry to say that the comments contest is coming to a close. At least for now. As you can tell, I’ve been having trouble keeping up. I just don’t have the extra time that it takes to manage the contest and create the artwork. I will be continuing to choose winners for the pages currently posted, through Chapter 4 page 3. I hope that, despite the end of the contest, everybody continues to comment on the pages. We read every comment and really do appreciate all the feedback you guys give us.

Here are sketches for our weeks 36 and 37 winners, Scott King and OhHaiMe. Scott wanted a sketch of a character from Holiday Wars, I chose Bunny. OhHaiMe wanted a picture of the Lone Ranger. Check them out:
