Chapter 4 Page 08
I just wanted to post a message along with today’s page mentioning my small part in another comic project that’s going on right now. It’s the Transmetropolitan Art Book, a brand new collection of art based upon the world of Transmetropolitan from around 100 artists in all different mediums. If you’re not familiar with the series Transmetropolitan, it was written by Warren Ellis, drawn by Darick Robertson, and followed the adventures of a subversive gonzo journalist in an insane mega city of the future. Sort of a Hunter S. Thompson meets Blade Runner.
This is going to be a large hardcover edition, with the proceeds going to two great comic related charities: Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, and Hero Initiative. They are raising money for the project through Kickstarter, where donations can be given. This is also the route by which you can pre-order the book. It won’t be offered through Diamond distribution, so getting a copy this way is your best bet. There are different levels of donations, with increasing incentives with each tier. $26,000 is the goal, but the more money they make, the more books can be printed, and then sold to benefit these two great charities. You can check out all the info, see previews, and get any questions answered on their Kickstarter page.
I have created a full color double page spread. Here’s a look at the inks, but if you want to see the finished piece, you have to get yourself a copy of the book of your very own!
